Blessings

In a way, I have been very blessed for my whole life. However, I have not always been appreciative of these blessings. I have a lot of work to do on myself before I am happy inside and out. I am proud of myself for taking the time to focus on me and try to get to where I want to be. There has been a good amount of conflict and stress in my life lately and I am hoping that some time away from it all will make everything even stronger. I know what I want and I know whats right. Whats meant to be will always find a way and I know its meant to be. In the meantime, I am making myself a better person and hoping that this finding-peace stage happens efficiently so I can be back where I belong. My world is about love and I hope that the one I love feels the same way about me.

Changes coming

Today I read a quote that said ” There is alot of talk about self esteem these days. It seems pretty basic to me. If you want to feel proud of yourself, you’ve got to do things you can be proud of. Feelings follow actions.” That got me to thinking. Also, I have found a book that I want to read. Zero Limits: The Secret Hawaiian System.. etc. We just had sorority recruitment. We got 140 amazing new girls. Hope to spend more time with them all this year and get to know some of them! Getting Dakota microchipped and licensed today. Then making dinner for Keene & myself. Have to start packing for our road trip next week to Connecticut!

Labor Day Weekend

Well Labor Day weekend is here. Pretty excited for 3 and a half days off. Not too many plans but that’s alright. Tonight is date night with Keene. He got me hooked on the TV show Dexter last night. This show is my latest obsession. I watched 4 episodes last night. Embarassing to admit? Maybe, but thats alright. Had dinner with some Alpha Phi ladies the other night, should be fun to get to know some more Alpha Phis in the area! Especially with recruitment and bid day coming up. Also had my modeling training for the MillerCoors company. I’m working a Coors Light promotion this saturday night for 3 and a half hours. Dressed kinda like a referee/official. Scary movies are playing at the drive-in this weekend. Found out that movie tavern does saturday morning all you can eat pancakes and a kids movie. Sounds great to me! I have been really stressed lately and decided to start meditating. I used to do it in high school but its been awhile. I think it will be good for stress relief. Better get back to work, write more later when I think of more interesting things to say.

Introduction to Jenn

Well I figure the first part of this should explain who I am. I am on my day off from work and decided to start this. I am 23 years old and live in Lexington, Kentucky. I grew up in Connecticut. I have no siblings. My parents are still married. I have a puppy named Dakota. I went to college in North Carolina at Appalachian State University. I graduated with a BS in Recreation Management with an emphasis in Outdoor Experiential Education and a minor in Foods and Nutrition. I have a full-time salaried job at Life Adventure Center as a Challenge Course Facilitator. I am pro-choice but think that there should still be laws on it. I don’t know alot about politics but I tend to agree more with democrats. I took a quiz in high school about political views and it turned out that I agreed most with the green party. I think the only reason i didn’t like them was because they had no homeland defense or something like that. Oh well. I think the death penalty is alright in certain cases. Gun control I dont have a strong opinion either way. I think both sides of that argument has strong points. I believe gay marriage should be legal. Love is love and you can’t help who you fall in love with and should be able to marry them. I think thats most of the controversial stuff I can think of. I have 5 piercings (2 in each ear and my belly button) and 1 tattoo (a small pink fleur de lis on my right side hip.) I have hypoglycemia. So if you ever see me unconscious on the ground, please feed me. I have been dating an amazing man named Keene for almost 3 months now. We have had some rough patches (mostly cause I’m a brat) but I believe we are an amazing couple and are great together. I was in a sorority in college, Alpha Phi, which I still hold dear to my heart. I model on a contract basis with iModels Event Staffing and I model part-time with MillerCoors as a Promotional Model. I get to promote Miller Lite, Coors Light, MGD 64, Blue Moon, etc. by handing out free beer, promotional items at football tailgates, bars, gas stations, stores, etc. My favorite tv shows are Nip/tuck, Lost, and anything on National Geographic and Discovery Channel. I have a pink blackberry that I’m absolutely obsessed with. I suppose that’s all for right now. Probably more than you care to know about me, but thats alright. Peace & Love.
